Abstract: Advocacy and ingest
Given the existence of a repository, the major task is
the advocacy of its benefits to its users. The process of
deposit, or ingest, of material into a repository is a key area for
efficient repository use.
This session addresses some of the most important
academic concerns regarding repository ingest. The VERSIONS
project has looked into identifying the particular versions of an article
as it goes through the writing and publication process.
RoMEO lists publishers' copyright transfer arrangements and identifies
what each publisher allows an author to do with these different versions.
The Depot is a new service providing a national open access ingest facility
for academics whose institutions do not yet have a repository.
