Online Educa Berlin 2005
Online Educa is the world's largest international e-learning conference, attracting over 1,700 strategists and practitioners from more than 60 different countries. The conference is accompanied by an exhibition and demonstration area, where delegates can learn about the latest products or services of leading international e-learning companies.
SURF and JISC, the national organisations for the Netherlands and the UK charged with championing the role of ICT in education, are taking an innovative joint presence at this years' Online Educa conference. The two organisations signed a Memorandum of Understanding earlier this year, committing them to a closer working partnership and a programme of collaborative work. Educa represents a unique opportunity of demonstrating this joint activity and showcasing some key European level developments. Educa will be an opportunity to show the impact when two major European national organisations join forces.
SURF and JISC will be making several contributions to the conference:
- A joint Dutch-UK pre-conference session covering open access, open standards and e-framework developments
- A joint policy session on open access development
- Speakers and contributors to several conference sessions
- The launch of the Knowledge Exchange, a new network to share and benefit from e-learning developments, initially between the Netherlands, the UK, Denmark and Germany
- A joint e-learning exhibition 'market' in the Wintergardens exhibition area, showcasing a range of SURF/JISC projects, tools and activities. The joint e-learning exhibition 'market' will centre on the two organisations' activities in the areas of open standards and interoperability, open access, repositories and e-learning innovation.
