Design for learning recommended reading list

Here are some key documents and reports which have informed the development of the Design for Learning programme. This list will be expanded upon in light of feedback from the start up meeting.

An overview of terminology used in the programme and also a list of relevant projects which the programme is building upon.

Summary of Design for Learning
A detailed overview of all the Pedagogy strand activities together with commentary on how the outcomes and recommendations from completed activities have been taken forward is contained in ‘Designing for Learning: An update on the Pedagogy strand of the JISC eLearning Programme’

Innovating e-Learning 2006
Design for Learning Theme from the recent JISC Online Conference. The presentations, papers and discussions from this theme are available from the conference website. To access the materials you will need to log-in using the user name: elp and password: wetandwindy. e-Books are being produced on all the themes and will be available from the JISC website later this year.

Effective Practice with e-Learning publication
The Effective practice with e-Learning guide outlines some of the key implications of the 'designing for learning' outcomes for practitioners in the UK post-16 sector, illustrated with ten case studies in effective e-learning practice.  To order a copy of the publication, please email publications@jisc.ac.uk.

Planning and Evaluating Effective Practice with e-Learning
This  website accompanies a series of JISC-HEA Regional workshops for practitioners, e-learning champions, staff developers and other people supporting effective practice with e-learning in UK Further and Higher Education. The materials are being updated as a result of feedback from the workshops and the final version of these materials will be made available in June 2006.
