The Academy and JISC Partnership Board
A partnership board, constituted of senior members from the Academy and JISC Executive, meet on a quarterly basis to review progress and plan future activity. Membership of the Partnership Board is currently under review.
Partnership activities
The Academy and JISC are implementation partners of the HEFCE e-learning strategy.
JISC and the Academy joined in strategic partnership in 2005This is being achieved through the Academy/JISC Collaboration (comprising the JISC Team leader and Academy Team Leader) which is responsible for developing and implementing a cross-organisational plan with the aim of enhancing the accessibility of institutions of higher education in the UK to information and resources in e-learning. This will involve working closely with Services, Subject Centres, units and teams funded through the two organisations and with members of their respective executive bodies.
The response has 3 aims (for more details, see terms of reference) implemented in several ways:
- Achieve effective inter-working and communication between JISC and the Academy through raised awareness of existing collaborations, collaboration events to develop relationships and the use of existing and new channels of communication ( e.g. newsletters, publications, wikis, podcasts)
- Develop a shared web presence providing guided pathways to the available resources in various themes (Assessment, Supporting academic staff, Work-related learning, Student learning experience) offering routes into the broader portfolios of relevant output of JISC, the Academy, its Services, Subject Centres and Regional Support Centres.
- Strategic advice and guidance provided to JISC and the Academy on the development of e-learning within the sector and the needs of institutions to inform the planning of future programmes. This will be provided through mapping and scoping of existing materials, user needs and appropriate communication approaches and a subsequent gap analysis
