Terms of reference
The Group stimulated discussion and action concerning the range of JISC activities that are relevant to the publishing and e-content industry. It was intended that the Group input into relevant areas of work that the JISC is currently undertaking that are of interest to a range of publishers. And informed JISC of activities undertaken by publishers; and the environments through which these are accessed by the higher educational and research community.
The definition of ‘publisher’ for this group included content providers and covered books, journals, images, time based media, geospatial resources and other research data, and learning materials.
Membership
The membership of the Group was designed to represent a cross section of representatives from libraries, publishers and content providers and the JISC Executive. Publishers and content providers were primarily selected on the basis that they represented umbrella bodies or larger organisations.
