Terms of reference
The e-Learning capital programme advisory board followed on from the Distributed e-Learning programme advisory board. Representative membership remained more or less the same. The Advisory Board:
- Developed an agreed understanding and overview of the scope of the capital e-Learning programme and sub-themes, with particular reference to the broad aims of the Programme;
- Took responsibility for the respective themes, ensure that links emanating from the themes are identified and feed into the overall running of the programme
- Identified synergies and promote alignments with developments and organisations both outside and within the JISC community
- Offered advice to the programme on developing practices and standards that should be incorporated into the programme
- Commented on and approve community calls, evaluate proposals and make funding recommendations to the appropriate JISC committee
- Steered the resulting funded activity to ensure a consistent and coherent approach
- Viewed draft and final reports from commissioned work
- Recommended additional work that could enhance the objectives of the programme
- Recommended re-adjustment of budgets across themes as necessary
- Offered advice on dissemination, sustainability strategies and evaluation for the programme
- Reported to the appropriate committees and make recommendations based on the programme‘s output
- Met 2/3 times a year as required until the successful conclusion of the programme
