The Digitisation advisory group was established to ensure the successful delivery of the Digitisation programme phase 1, closely monitoring the 6 funded projects. In 2007, Digitisation phase 2 began (a further 16 projects) working within the framework of the JISC Capital programme.

Terms of reference

  • Offered perspectives from the learning, research, enterprise and cultural heritage communities and, in particular, e-content strategy, user needs, interoperability, digital content lifecycle management and digital preservation issues, and on emerging thematic priorities that might be reflected within the programme management, structuring or activities
  • Offered advice to programmes on developing practices and standards that should be incorporated into the programmes
  • Advised on additional areas of work that could enhance the objectives of the programmes
  • Identified synergies with developments and organisations both outside and within the JISC community
  • Offered advice on dissemination, sustainability strategies and evaluation of the programmes and projects
