Developed an agreed understanding and overview of the scope of the Core Middleware programmes, and agree the aims and objectives for the programmes as laid out in the planning documentation
Identified synergies with developments and organisations both outside and within the JISC community
Responded to exception reports from the Programme Manager on an ad-hoc basis, and agree appropriate actions
Refered issues and complications to the Technical Experts Group, and ratify recommendations made by this group
Made funding recommendations to the appropriate JISC committees
Steered the resulting funded activity to ensure a consistent and coherent approach
Recommended additional work that could enhance the objectives of the programmes
Offered advice on dissemination, sustainability strategies and evaluation for the programmes
Members commented on and approve community calls for proposals/tender documents
Members evaluated bids received in response to calls/tenders
Members viewed draft and final reports from commissioned work
Members made recommendations based on the programme’s outputs to the appropriate committees
