This Working Group was set-up to advise on the acquisition, creation and provision of information resources for the distributed national electronic resource.

Progress overview 1996-1999

Terms of reference

The group advised JCEI on the acquisition, creation and provision of information resources across JCEI's programme of development for the distributed national electronic resource by:

• consulting with the user community, with content suppliers, and with JCALT to develop strategic plans for content acquisition, creation, provision, uptake and use
• reviewing annually the status of the DNER content portfolio
• communicating methods and priorities for acquisition, creation and provision of content
• ensuring the JISC Collections Policy remains a manifestation of JCEI's strategic aims in its remit to develop the distributed national electronic resource
• identifying, stimulating, and implementing strategic developments relating to content acquisition, creation, or provision
