Terms of reference

  • Develop an agreed understanding and overview User Environments programme and sub-themes, with particular reference to the broad aims of the programme
  • Support the User Environments Development Director and team in planning and executing work packages that range across the programme strands, feeding knowledge into JISC development planning and community dissemination from user, practice and institution perspectives to ensure a wide perspective is taken into account
  • Identify synergies with developments and organisations both outside and within the JISC community
  • Provide expert advice to the programme team on developing practices and standards that should be incorporated into the programme
  • Recommend development priorities and additional work that could enhance the objectives of the programme
  • Offer advice on dissemination, sustainability strategies and evaluation for the programme
  • Report to the JIIE and other committees as appropriate
  • Meet 2/3 times a year as required until the successful conclusion of the programme
  • Members will comment on and approve community calls for proposals/tender documents
  • Members will  evaluate bids received in response to calls/tenders
  • Members will view draft and final reports from commissioned work
  • Members will make recommendations based on the programme’s outputs to the appropriate committees
