Circular 7/08: JISC Institutional Innovation Programme

 JISC invites institutions to submit funding proposals for a number of large-scale projects to develop exemplar technology and practice solutions to institutional problems in the areas of:
  • Support for learners, teachers and researchers using Web 2.0 technologies and mobile devices to access institutional systems
  • Improvements to institutions’ environmental sustainability through ‘green ICT
  • Effective planning for and use of future learning spaces and other estates assets, making the most appropriate use of ICT
  • e-Administration

JISC also invites institutions to submit proposals for a synthesis and support project which will synthesise and disseminate the outputs of the exemplars for the benefit of the community.

Total funding of up to £6,000,000 is available for Institutional Exemplars projects (up to 20 projects at £200,000-£300,000 per project) starting from September 2008 for 18 months. Total funding of up to £400,000 is available for the support project starting from September 2008 for up to 30 months.

The deadline for receipt of proposals in response to this call is 12:00 noon on 17 July 2008.

Eligibility: Proposals may be submitted by HE institutions funded by HEFCE and HEFCW. FE institutions in England that teach HE to more than 400 FTEs are also eligible to bid provided proposals demonstrate work that supports the HE in FE agenda.
